Once a child reaches those preteen and adolescent years, they begin to want a more age-appropriate bedroom. And if your teens are like mine, they enjoy making their own bedroom decor. Sometimes it’s tough to know what that might look like, but Sunlit Spaces is up to the task! Here 12 of the most clever ideas I’ve found for a teenage bedroom. And they won’t break your budget!
1.Light strings are one of the coolest, easiest ways to dress up a teenage bedroom. Add them to a simple canopy for a romantic look she’s sure to fall in love with.
2. Cell phones are important to your teen. If you allow your teen to have their cell phone in their room overnight {and I don’t blame you if you don’t} this idea will work nicely for charging it up in a very pretty way.
3. A pretty bench is a great way to dress up a teen bedroom. And with this thrift store upcycle, your teen can DIY this project for a steal.
4. Paint an ombre accent wall! There’s a link to an excellent tutorial at the end of this post.
5. Don’t want an entire ombre wall? Try a wall hanging that is so simple it won’t take very long for your teen to make.
6. These geometric bauble lights made with a 3D printer have to be about the coolest teenage bedroom idea ever!
7. Create a donut garland with some mini CD labels and a free printable you’ll find the link to at the end of this post. It’s adorable!
8. Who wouldn’t love a sweet space like this to while away the hours reading a good book?
9. A faux fur throw pillow for the bed or reading nook is as easy as 1-2-3.
11. How cool is this? Turn a #10 can {or any size you like} into an awesome lantern, or even a nightlight. Just set a battery-operated candle or LED light inside.
12. A Zebra rug might be the thing to complete your teenage bedroom space. Good thing it’s an easy DIY project!
