1. Toys! And with toys, comes toy storage. Toy boxes, crates, baskets, bins, drawers, whatever you choose, organize your space to make the best of it.
2. Color! Please don’t make the toy room so nice and fancy that it looks more like a study than a room for little kiddies. Believe me, they won’t play in it and you won’t want them to. By adding color, you add energy. Just because it is bright and colorful, doesn’t
mean it won’t look nice. Choose colors that you like and have fun with it! Make it a space that is inviting to little minds.
3. Art! Don’t get scared! This doesn’t have to mean water colors and glue everywhere. Find some great ways to let your children be creative without making an irreparable mess. Chalkboards, whiteboards, easels, magnet boards, tables with paper and crayons, art display areas, and modeling clay are all great ways to let your kids be creative and have fun! It doesn’t have to be messy, find a great way to organize your art supplies like shown to the left.
4. Books! A fun reading area in a playroom will encourage the kids to read and relax. And what kid doesn’t need a little R and R sometimes? Make it comfortable in there, with pillows, chairs or sofas, a bench seat or whatever works for your space. If you make it fun and cozy they might just pick up a book:)
