Blankets are like dish cloths—without spending a dime, you somehow collect an insane amount of them. And actually, I am a sucker for a cozy blanket, so I DO spend dimes and buy them. Gobs of them. I have even had my blanket-buying privileges revoked by my space-preserving husband, at one point. If you are like me, and you need a place to store and organize your collection, here are some really great methods for our madness. Storage solutions need not be eyesores—there are plenty of aesthetically pleasing ideas out there. Point in case:
Large wicker baskets and bins—honestly, I think wicker goes well in almost any room and will never go out of style. I found this cute basket from Rantchic.
An old chest, trunk, or large suitcase—these seem to be all over the place lately, being used for a variety of purposes. I love the vintage look of them! And the good news is, if you’re willing to hunt, you can find one for a reasonable price at a thrift or antique store. I love this one from Dor Nob.
Hang from the rungs on an antique or rustic ladder. Makes for easy viewing and selection of the blanket you want to snuggle up with! This cute one is from Houzz.
Create a hidden cubby underneath a bench or window seat. Lift up the seat to access the bins. Keeps the room looking tidy and uncluttered while still providing plenty of space for storage.
If you like rustic, wooden items, use crates or palettes for storing blankets.Source
Cabinets, bookcases, and shelves can easily hold multiple blankets. Keeps blankets organized and off the floor. How adorable is this one I found from Keepin it Thrifty Andrea.
Hang from towel rods on the inside of living room or bedroom closet doors—good if you only need to store a couple blankets. I love how clean and organized this linen closet looks! From Duo Ventures.
Get a hollow ottoman like this one I found from Designer Gaze. It’s already in the family room, so why not use it for storage?
