Hot glue guns hacks aren’t just for craft enthusiasts! Did you know that a hot glue gun will make your life easier in ways that have little to do with crafts? I’m going to show you just what I mean on today’s post. Keep reading to see 10 hot glue gun hacks everyone should know! Before you try any of these hacks, make sure you have a good supply of glue sticks for your hot glue gun.
1. I love those plastic tubular hangers, but once in awhile I’ll have a dress or blouse that refuses to stay on. Now you can just add 3 or 4 dots of hot glue to the ends of the hanger to turn them into non-slip hangers, and it only takes about 3 seconds.
2. Put some hot glue at the underside corners of a throw rug to put a stop to it slipping around on the floor. This is pretty much genius, which also means “why didn’t I think of it first?”
3. Cleaning the insides of kids’ bath toys can be a little time-consuming, but if you’d rather not do it at all, there’s a hot glue gun hack for that. Just seal up the holes in your kids’ bath toys with hot glue. So simple!
4. Shoes with slippery soles are made more grippy with hot glue. Just put some squiggles of hot glue on the soles and let it dry completely before wearing.
5. Hair bows and bow ties are a simple, no-sew project as long as you have a hot glue gun.
6. All it takes is a hot glue gun to unite a solar light and a mason jar. Then you’ve got an awesome solar lantern {or 3 or 6!} to put on your patio.
7. Use a glue gun to “draw” snowflake shapes on wax paper. After they harden, add Mod Podge and glitter. Once the Mod Podge dries, peel them up and you’ve got glittery snowflakes.
8. There’s an easy way to keep your wall art level. All you need is a hot glue gun and some brass tacks.
9. Use hot glue to fasten a binder clip to a silicone pot holder. Now you’ve got a very handy place to rest your hot glue gun while you’re using it!
10. A glue gun and a crayon or two is the perfect way to make your own hot wax seals for envelopes. Use two colors for a swirly effect.
