I love welcoming front door colors! For one, I think color makes a huge difference in the feel of the entire home. After admiring my new neighbor’s deep red door the other day, I came home to research front door colors. Let me show you what I’ve found!
Welcoming Front Door Colors
The color of your front door really sets the tone for your home, and provides an instant “welcome” to all your visitors. So it makes sense to make it as welcoming as you can! Here are some of the most welcoming front door colors to choose from.
Try painting your front door turquoise. This color is just beautiful as is, but for some extra oomph you can apply a clear glaze over the top. I love this welcoming look! Turquoise is “in,” but you don’t see it too often. It definitely makes your front door stand out.
A Bright and Happy Yellow
A favorite of many is Benjamin Moore Imperial Yellow. It looks so bright and happy! Whenever you use a bold color like this, be sure that you have grounding tones around it. Colors that ground include earth tones. An earth tone serves to emphasize the yellow door, without causing it to look out of place. A yellow door is definitely bold!
Blue For A Welcoming Front Door
This is one of my favorite choices for front door colors. A great choice is Sherwin-Williams Indigo. Blue always makes a statement anyone can live with!
Don’t discount a classic black! It may be an obvious choice, but it’s definitely a winner. A black front door looks particularly fabulous on a green home, a traditional red brick style house, or on a gray shingle.
It is pretty trendy where I live to paint your front door red. A bright, ultra-red usually fades quickly in weather and sunlight. But there are many shades of red to choose from! A deep red is warm and inviting, while a bright red is attractive and energetic.
There’s a lot to say for a pretty aqua, with it’s comforting feel. If your home supports this color choice, go for it. Mine doesn’t, but I wish it did!
You may not realize it, but pink is quite a trendy choice in front door colors. Again, not every home supports this sort of color, but I wholeheartedly love it!
Green is another timeless choice. Go more subtle with an emerald green, or be bold and paint your door in a bright chartreuse. It’s definitely bold and welcoming!
