I have noticed lately, that when I am on Pinterest, looking at fancy home ideas, I am attracted to beautiful, unique rooms. Most of which have these amazing ceilings!
I never really pegged myself for a “ceiling person” but… I guess I am! Who knew? That said, I cannot believe the pop that these amazing ceilings can give to a room. There are so many beautiful ways that you can dress up your room and add class with a little ceiling makeover.
Depending on your skills and abilities, some of these may be things you contract out. I figure that ANYTHING can be a “DIY” idea, for the right person. My husband happens to be pretty dang handy, so most things I find on Houzz, or other sites, can become DIY projects for my home.
New on my list- a ceiling makeover. What a lovely way to fancy up our bedroom! Here are some really great ceiling makeover ideas that are {relatively} inexpensive and will give your room a pop.
Ceiling Makeover Ideas
Beadboard
This can be a great style to go for especially in country homes or outdoor places. The beadboard and crossing planks really give the room a large and spacious feel while also adding color and style.
Crown Molding
While this isn’t a design that goes across your whole ceiling, it’s really a feature that adds lots of sophistication to the room. Choose a molding that accents the paint job and decorations in the room to make sure everything looks great together!
Painted Design or Stencil
Sometimes your ceiling doesn’t even really need to be remodeled, it just needs to be repainted! Use your creativity and paint or stencil a fun design across your ceiling that looks great and pulls the whole room together! Choose colors that go well together and match the rest of the room.
Wood Paneling
If you don’t want to have hardwood floors, then have hardwood ceilings! Okay, maybe it’s not exactly hardwood ceilings, but wood paneling on the ceiling is a GREAT way to make your room stick out and look great.
Wood Beams
Wooden beams can add a great sense of style and sophistication to your home without much expense or maintenance. And they go well with other materials, if you want to change the look between the beams as well!
Exposed Pipes
This idea will give your room a great industrial look, but you need to make sure it fits the room. If exposed pipes will make your home look rundown or ugly, than avoid this look.
However, in certain homes and with certain designs and styles, exposed pipes can really add another dimension to your home!
Molding for Coffered Ceiling Look
This is an incredibly fancy and sophisticated ceiling style. While it may not fit in some homes, if you can pull it off, it’s a great addition. The high ceiling and grid system will give any room a regal, charming feel in no time!
Accent Color
If you choose the right accent color and have some good decorations around the room, the this is a great idea! An accent color on the ceiling not only ties the whole room together, but also is a way to add some fun and liveliness without taking up any space at all!
